As I was getting ready for work this morning, I received a text that a friend was in trouble. She hadn't been heard from since 11 p.m. the night before. At that time she was driving to some unknown destination, having left her home in desperation. This girl is someone I care for very much and to think of her in such a sense of panic was causing me great concern. As difficult as it was, I continued to get ready and went on to work.
A few hours later I received another text that my friend had been contacted and that she was alright, but had no idea what to do next or where to turn. Her marriage was dissolving, she was short on money, and having left home, had no where to stay. While she could possibly have gone out of state to visit a mutual friend, she really needed to remain close by in order to work at the job she so deperately needed to keep.
As I was thinking this through, the Lord reminded me that my brother's house was, in fact, near her job and that he might possibly allow her to stay there. After contacting him and getting his approval, I sent her this text," My dear sister, I have the most beautiful safe place for you to stay that is near your work. It is a castle fit for you, the princess. God has prepared it for you, so please do not refuse it. It won't cost anyone a penny. The castle is the first story of my brother's three story house. It is waiting for you. They hardly ever go down there and he wants you to come!!! He is a man who loves the Lord and lives to serve him and this would bless him too." To which she responded, "Oh sister, I am sobbing!!! That is soooo amazing! I laid down just a few minutes ago and prayed, "God tell me what to do. But this time I even added that I would go back to my husband if that is what God wanted. He answered me with your incredible txt message and offering!!! AMAZING!!!!"
The more we talked, it was decided that she might stay at my brother's lake house instead which would provide more privacy. We both drove there in the pouring rain and as I was driving I listened to Beth Moore's bible study on "Stepping Up". Not surprisingly, I was listening to this cd out of desperation. I had run out of the other cd's in the series, and listened to this one fully expecting to hear very technical details about the bible study. What I heard instead was a beautiful introduction to the study and during this introduction she quoted and expounded on, none other than HEBREWS 11!!! Wow GOD!!!
Later we arrived to walk through the door, soaking wet, after not being able to find the key, calling my brother, digging around in the dirt, and finally finding it----to see the time on the stove clock showing 6:11. PRAISE THE LORD!!!
